Processing simply not running
« on: Oct 20th, 2004, 6:22pm »

Hello,

I downloaded version 68 standard (Java included) to Windows XP Pro. I unpack the files to c:\ and double click on the processing.exe file as instructed. But the program does nothing. No window, no process in the Task Manager, nothing.

Is there some other initial step? Is there no XP support?

I re-downloaded and reinstalled Java.

Now I ge this error:

'The Instruction at "0x77f58lbd" referenced memory at "0x3a433b59". The memory Could not be written.'

Sigh. What is going on?

Note: An old build, 46, still works dandy on this machine.

for me: what are the contents of your CLASSPATH and PATH? if you're not sure what i'm talking about, open up a command prompt and type:
echo %CLASSPATH%
echo %PATH%
and copy & paste the contents to here.

for you: try the run.bat file since that may get around the problem.

Paste the contents of what here? You mean the contents of my zip file? Or the Proce55 exe file. The program looks really great , but I can't seem to get it to run. It's driving me nuts. How do I find the run.bat file if I want to try that? PPPlease help?
It says it can't find the main program. This must be a path problem, but I don't know how to fix it.
