Java book? Anyone?
« on: May 18th, 2004, 11:08pm »

Hi

I've started moving towards java from flash out of necessity and am finding the transition to be tough.
Does anyone know of any good books/tutorials that can introduce coding in java from a visual perspective?
I'm goin to start into processing but I'm looking at graphs for handhelds so I'll have to jump to java quiet soon.

THanks

Ben Fry has posted some good pointers to learning Java, listing both books and online resources. Buying a book might be useful, but they tend to be expensive and you can find a lot of help on the web already.

Hi,

If you are also new to OOP (objected oriented programming) then I recommend "Objects First With Java", Barnes and Kölling. Take a look here: http://www.bluej.org/
