10,000 users !

wahoo!
as of about noon eastern standard time, the list of people who have signed up to download processing has passed 10,000. this is very exciting.
congratulations to all of you who have helped out with processing either through direct contributions, helping out others getting started here on the discourse site, or making interesting work that gets more people interested. it's really great to see.

+ there have been 2400+ downloads since march 1. during that timeframe, for rev 68 this was ~1500 downloads for windows (std + expert), ~500 downloads for macosx, and ~100 downloads for linux. (the 2400 number is higher because folks download other releases too)
+ there are more that have signed up but since had their address removed because of bouncing mail
+ duplications have also been removed
+ this mailing list is currently deluged with about 2 messages a year (although there are some virus infected machines out there who like to send email as processing at media.mit.edu.. ugh.. outlook)
+ this doesn't take into account people who have just passed around the download location or distributed it directly as part of a course
+ we don't know how many people are actively using processing
