vdig alternative

i'm doing some live video, but vdig keeps crashing on me, specifically the hacktv.exe just has never run on the image i'm using on a computer. i'm suspecting it to be some incompatability with win2k? which is weird, because it was working fine on a xp machine. if anyone knows of an alternative or what could be my problem, please help -jay

on my machines, it's the contrary: winvdg works well with win2k but crashes under xp. but... for webcam grabbing to work with p5, hacktv.exe doesn't have to be launched. it seems that winvdg is installing some additional quicktime components, and they're the ones who do the job (at least, on my xp machine...) hth

yikes. these video inconsistencies are really causing alot of pain. (i haven't heard of any problems on apple yet.) vdig used to work on win2k, but we're also having trouble in our lab with the current win2k. it seems strange to me. here is a reference to an alternative to vdig: http://proce55ing.net/discourse/yabb/board_general_action_displ_ay_num_1061892243.html
