FFT and MIDI

hi over there! i participate in a project called "i hear something that you don´t see- i see something that you don´t hear". i have the problem now that i want to convert different data types into others, those others should be inter- pretable again. so, for example, i wanted to make music of binary code/internet-protocols. now my idea is to let acustic input arrange some more or less strange musical composition. does anybody know how to get a FFT-transformation-input for proce55ing?? important was also a .MIDI-format conversion. sorry for my bad english, my eyes hurt but my soul is restless...) by the way: thank you, amit, for being so positive

nono christian - thanks for mentioning this! actually, your post lead to Martin showing us something very interesting. martin - that jsml looks like an extension project for jsyn. i wonder if that fft is included with the original jstn plugin. hmm. i'll ask around.

jmsl is an java-extension project by phil burke and nick didkovsky for generating sound in java. they experience in their own examples (as far as i saw) rather non-interactive soundscapes. but when i found it, i thought it could be mighty useful for inter- medial experiences...
