After all the posts about perlin noise, I thought i'd see who the guy is that invented it. I thought he'd be an old dead mathematician with a really long hooked beard, but instead i found this:

yes, he's a young vibrant guy. he oversees alot of very interesting work at new york university. (and he's won an oscar too)
