Missing QTJava.zip file
« on: Feb 14th, 2005, 1:34am »

Hello, I've been having difficulty in getting the QTJava.zip file. I was getting teh standard message saying I needed to install Quicktime for Java on apple.com/quicktime/download/.

I tried the apple.com/quicktime/download/, it has not given me the appropraite file.  I've been frantically searching through the apple website for it and I eventually found something that led off the site to something specifically called "Quicktime for java." I have reinstalled all the programs and searched just to make sure the file wasn't in the wrong directory.  I just can't seem to get the file or get it in teh right place.

Any ideas?

this is outlined in bugs.txt, but here's the excerpt from a more recent (and clearer) version of the file that should answer your question:

- windows.. you must make sure that "QuickTime for Java" is
installed. to install it, you need to download it at:
  http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
if you install the version "with iTunes", there's a second
step. after the installation, go to Start Menu -> QuickTime ->
QuickTime Updater. when it runs, use the "Custom" install, scroll
down, and click the checkbox next to "QuickTime for Java" and then
install. if you install the version of QuickTime without iTunes,
you'll also need to use the "Custom" install, as outlined above. the
same is true if you have already installed QuickTime, and did not
use the "Custom" or "Full" install.

Thank you,

I think I misunderstood the bugs.txt directions or possible missed it.  Processing now runs and I'll see what I can do.
