Keyboard not working

am using v0068 for windows (xp)
i can open processing, run examples but i cant write any code, i can only use arrow keys to scroll through, all others do not seem to work!no copy and paste either, restarted computer numerous times etc.
downloaded software again but no luck! is it just me? Please let me know asap!
