It's doing this every time now. Any ideas?

yikes, perhaps your copy of jikes got mangled?
 
you might try redownloading / reinstalling 68. be sure to keep a copy of the sketchbook folder to bring that over to the new copy of 68 so you have all your sketches.

I don't know who or what jikes is but a re-installation fixed it. Thanks fry, you da man.

jikes is the compiler used behind the scenes once your p5 code has been turned into java code.
 
and forgive me for typing quickly and writing something like "yikes, perhaps your copy of jikes.." that sounds painfully corny.
