integrating processing in jython
« on: Dec 9th, 2004, 6:31pm »

Hi!

I'm wondering whether it could be an option to access processing from the Jython enviroment. Since at the moment I'm learning programming in Python mostly trivial syntax problems / confusion are hard to overcome. True, I'm afraid of damaging my fresh & fragile new skills...
I'd like to use processing for sketching out ideas i'm working on in python. That means going back and forth to syntax i'm uncomfortable with. Would the Jython thing be a solution? I know this sounds trivial but for me it would be a major enhancement in my work.

Cheers,

Jelle.

Hi Jelle,

I tried something with python(jython) within java.

If I well understood, I did something in the other way, control jython from p5. You could have a look at http://processing.org/discourse/yabb/board_Tools_action_display__num_1102830752.html

I'm using eclipse, it could be a bit complex.
