A spirograph, "an instrument for registering the depth and rapidity of respiratory movements." Inspired by Glen Murphy and his Super Shapes applet, I decided to make a spirograph simulation.

Click on the above link to view the description. In that page click "View Spirograph" to be taken to the applet. Source is included as well with the formula used to make the spirograph. Simply drag the bars in the applet or press "R" to produce a random spirograph and any key to turn points to lines, lines to points.

Enjoy, comments, questions would be appreciated. Thank you, and enjoy.

so beautiful! I was really, thoroughly, entertained.

all that's missing are ink blobs, uneven ink flow and torn paper.

would be very cool to see it animate (if only through the inertia-style sliders used on other shape making examples here)-

and to expose the circles used to draw it maybe? (of course they'd have to have the saw teeth and be all inky over the drawing holes that are used)...

God is in the details, sure, but what kind of God?
