the "situation" the processing website is only partially automated. many pages are hand edited. (eeek!) as a result, the control over the content outside of this board is monopolized by myself. i would love to turn over control of some content to you. i have engines that allow myself to make changes locally and this worked fine in the past, but now online distributed engines are becoming necessary. skills perl and XML are our prefered technologies. we have many examples and similar code for reference. i first learned perl working on a similar type of project, so if you are interested don't let "perl" scare you. if you are familiar with PHP or JavaScript, this will be easy for you. specifics online engines are needed for: adding new happenings (http://proce55ing.net/) adding software links (http://proce55ing.net/software/) generating software page (http://proce55ing.net/software/) adding courses(http://proce55ing.net/learning/courses/) building reference (http://proce55ing.net/reference/) maintaining technotes (http://proce55ing.net/reference/technotes/) could it be me? send mail to processing@media.mit.edu to let us know if you're interested; or post your questions here.

martin has kindly offered to begin building website machines. he is beginning with the reference. the online reference system will allow a group of people to update and add to the processing reference. in addition, it will have two levels (basic and advanced) to show and obscure levels of syntax complexity. fantastic.

dara and jimqode have kindly offered to begin working on the software pages of the site. we're planning to build a public interface for allowing anyone to post links to the right column of this page: http://www.proce55ing.net/software/
