I can't install RXTX
« on: Mar 22nd, 2003, 8:43pm »

I know that I have got to install RXTX 1.5 to run PROCESSING (under MAC OS X) - but the problem is; that I'm not able to install it. when I open the package and run the install file he comes to the point "running installer script" and there he starts working, and that do not end anymore... does anyone know a solution for that? thanks if somebody could help me.

i'll check and see if there's a problem with the installer.

you only need rxtx if you're going to be using the serial port. you might also check www.rxtx.org for another copy of the installer and see if that one works better.

I installed RXTX now manually - I think it works now. but it would be great if you find a way to make it with the installer to!

I am having the same problem when trying to install the RXTX-serial-stuff on my OSX machine... I have been looking through the RXTX-website but cannot seem to find anything for OSX.

Help?

k, looks like i'll have this straightened out for rev 57. sorry this has taken a while.

i think we'll be able to do the serial stuff without an additional package install (except for you installing your drivers from keyspan or whatever) but you will need to run a shell script, which will be included.
