For what it's worth, I wrote a brief summary of how to choose 'nice' colors for your sketches (feel free to suggest additional or better tips!)): http://p5art.tumblr.com/post/65720981115/how-to-choose-colors-for-your-processing-sketches

  • =D> Nice article. It is really awesome \m/ \m/ \m/

  • good advice there Xeronimo74 -- I've noticed in digital art that there are heaps of garish, over-saturated colors -- I'm a graphic designer and it makes my eyeballs hurt!

  • Why is this in Programming Questions? It is not a question at all!

Since that's some work and something worthwhile to share, I moved the topic to this category...

  • one thing i do is use HSB to control color. I like this option, it's a little more work, but it means you can do nice things like change the hue without changing the saturation or brightness, so everything looks tonally similar. The bad side is that when using additive blending it isn't as straightforward as RGB, that's how it seems to me anyhow.

  • blyk: thanks! :) clair: yes, haha, it can hurt!! :D philho:sorry for it being in the wrong category ... blah: yes, HSB is very neat too, I've recently been playing with it: http://p5art.tumblr.com/post/77271925478/embracing-colors-animated-my-code-here
