A Praxis LIVE user has been experimenting with i-score on Linux. That should work well with vanilla Processing. There's also IanniX, which looks amazing but the user in question couldn't get to run for him.
One of the extensions to Processing's API I have in Praxis LIVE is keyframe animation. eg.
