A serial read of a CSV stream is populated to a drawing. on data change will garble the print. Why?

    I am not sure what you mean by "garbled".

    Just in case, you use background() at the start of draw(), are you?

  • Yes it is the same but went w/o notice so I resubmitted. Notice the lower boxes outlined with red ellipse. the data reported there doesn't look like it should; see snap just below. The way in which it get garbled changes and sometimes will add extra boxes all the way across the meter. It does correct itself, but way does it draw incorrectly from start. The data doesn't change B/W initial draw and the corrected draw.

  • ok, looking into background() . The draw simply places a colored rectangle in the data area and then draws the value there.

  • ok, I don't use background and do not draw the meter every time data changes. Instead
    draw the meter at beginning which looks like the same meter w/o data. Data get populated on change by first drawing the data sized rectangle then text on top of it.

  • Is there a better way to describe the problem I'm having?
