AFAIK, Movie instances don't necessarily cease to exist just b/c its variable was re-assigned to another Movie. @-)
Although the old Movie is garbage-collected, its allocated resources are still live! :-SS
That's b/c those resources were allocated by some native code outside Java's reach! b-(
Therefore we've gotta explicitly invoke dispose() upon a Movie before saying farewell to it!
This recent post got an example using dispose() upon the old Movie once it makes a new 1: :-B

Is it possible to trigger a video to play in a third party app like vlc or quicktime? I find the player on processing jittery.
