OS Mavericks (10.10.3) Asus Xtion Pro: Can't init SimpleOpenNI, maybe the camera is not connected!
Hi, i am new to Processing having trouble to connect my asus xtion pro live with Processing and Simple Open Ni. I am using a mac book pro with Yosemite OS installed 10.10.3 (14D131) with usb 3.0 (already updated the firmware to support usb 3.0 http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/Xtion_PRO_LIVE/HelpDesk/ and here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/reconstructme/980jc2V9m-o)
As you can in the image i am getting the error :
Can't init SimpleOpenNI, maybe the camera is not connected!
I have installed the 2 new lib .dylib files: https://code.google.com/p/simple-openni/issues/detail?id=59 and https://code.google.com/p/simple-openni/issues/detail?id=75 but still nothing.
Do you have any idea why the asus xtion pro live is not available?
p.s: on another mac with OS Mavericks the Asus Xtion Pro Live with the exact same version of Processing and simpleOpenNi works fine so i am between the usb 3.0 issue and the OS Version Issue.

hi, the download Asus firmware to support usb 3.0
you can find the link for the firmware upgrade here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/reconstructme/980jc2V9m-o and then at the comments http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Xtion+PRO&os= but from what they say there is no native support for firmware upgrade via Mac OS so you need to find a windows machine to do the firmware upgrade for the asus xtion pro without any warranty that if things go wrong you can blame someone. My update was done without any issues but this is something that does not count for anyone that updates the firmware. So use it on your own risk :)
