Video playback choppy, still? (Read 637 times)
Video playback choppy, still?
May 16th, 2010, 6:44pm

I just started to try using Processing for a video project, and have found that playback using the Movie class (.mov files) is very choppy, and almost seems like the framerate is less than 5!  I tried setting it using frameRate of course, and using different mov files made with different codecs.

I found a thread from 2005 about this (search "video choppy" -- wont let me put a link here because it's my first post).    Is this is a common issue?

Or another class out there for video playback that works better?  I would like to dynamically control the speed of playback eventually, and the videos may be fairly high res, I had thought processing might be a good choice for this...
