I Am posting an answer to a problem that had me stumped for a while and might effect others:

For my secure (https) website, every time i loaded a page with a processing java applet, I got the "This page contains secure and nonsecure items" warning
My fix for this was to change the links within the object to the Java website from http to https  - then I stopped getting the warning Cool
