Real-time streaming video output?

Hi,

We're looking into developing an application using Processing - this app needs to be able to encode the final output and stream that live to a server so it can be rebroadcast to a number of screens.

Has anybody ever worked on something similar? I looked at using GSVideo as a starting point, but that uses gstreamer pipelines to read from, not write to.
