problem getting BeatDetect in Minim to work

I'm playing with Minim for the first time and am having problems with BeatDetect. I want to detect the guitar-like sounds at the beginning of his track bit.ly/9oVosL. I tried using isHat etc, but none of the preset functions picked them up. I ran through lots of parameters for isOnset, also without luck.

That leaves isRange, but I don't know enough about audio to know what parameters I should use. Any thoughts?
