Hardware and lightweight linux for sketch playback
Jan 11th, 2010, 5:38pm

I'm looking to build some machines to playback sketches in a gallery environment. They need to be very simple. The idea is someone would turn the machine on. The OS would load and the sketch would launch without needing any user input. This would be similar to a digital frame.

As far as hardware, I am leaning towards bare bones atom 330 / ION motherboards with a couple GB of ram, booting some lightweight linux distro from a USB key.

Can anyone who has done this offer suggestions?

Thanks.
