Automobile / motorbike sound in processing
Jan 7th, 2010, 10:58pm

Hi all,

Does someone have ideas of how I can generate engine sounds of a motorbike. You can imagine to sound to be something like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=hi&v=6dDIyG3aXx0&fmt=18
The imporant thing is that the sound changes with RPM(speed) of the engine.

I used the Minim library and tried continuously playing a single atomic periodic sound (a thump) over and over again to make it sound like an engine going like thump-thump-thump...... but at high RPMs this sound has to play like 100 times a second. This high refresh rate gets too strenuous for the computer. Any ideas...? Also is there some way I can use a MIDI motorcycle instrument?

Thanks.

Milind

You are at the wrong place to ask questions, you should go to Sound, Music Libraries section instead. Thanks.
