Camera Requirements for Processing Capture
Dec 21st, 2009, 1:12pm

Hi,

I am currently deciding on which camera i will buy to use for my motion tracking installation.
What are the requiremts for the camera driver, so that it can be used as a capturing device in processing and its various vision libaries like the opencv port, jmyron and proGPUKLT?

Are there any experiences with ethernet cameras?
How about a HDMI capture card like the blackmagic Intensity Pro? Could it be used as a capture source? probably java would be too slow for analyzing an HD Stream, but did anyone try?

If my Camera (whatever hardware inteface it may have, ) is not accesible through one of the libaries, where could i find more information about getting acces to the driver of a capture device in java, like it is done in the mentioned libaries?

thanks

Chris
