MovieMaker to be continued if QT for Java may not?

Hopefully this has not be discussed before, I could not find it at least.

Question is: does anybody, maybe one of the developers Wink know if frame-recording into Quicktime using MovieMaker will be still available (maybe thru an other library) if QT for Java becomes discontinued. I heard rumours, also here on the board, that Apple may not support QTJ in the future. Currently I am using WinXP, where this is working perfect but would like to switch to Win-7 or MAC OS next year, so this could be a bit of an issue... Thanks!
