The Flickr set:

documents Twitter Search Grid (TSG) , a Processing Application for searching and browsing tweets.

Enter a search term, and TSG will show the avatars corresponding the first 100 results in a 10x10 grid.  Clicking on the avatar shows the tweets.

Some interesting patterns emerge:  using a users twitter name as the search term compares the users activity vs. mentions:
