Creating Video as a mosic from still images

Hi
I'll be honest Im totally new to the world of processing, so have a question to put out to the masses.

Im about to embark on my final year university project where I hope to take still images (in a cctv) and use these to populate a live video feed, so the still images make a mosaic to create what the video feed captures.

I am currently just putting the feelers out there to see if ANYONE know of any possible ways to achieve something like this, and if processing would be the best way forward.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
