well, yes, but you have to remember that the person posing the original question was having trouble defining an integer variable. i was trying to keep the solution realistic, stepping them through it a bit at a time. that last post would've just blown their minds, brains everywhere. 8)

had they stuck around i'd've moved the individual square drawing into a method with parameters, just nine calls. then i'd've pointed out that all the coords were multiples of 300, introduced constants and gone from there to loops.
