Making screenshots of sketch
Jun 2nd, 2009, 6:09am

Hi

I wish to record an animation of my sketch but due to the speed at which the sketch runs at, using a screen capture program won't be good enough.

I have decided to dump an uncompressed screenshot on every frame but alas, this bit of knowledge eludes me.

Could someone please point me in the direction to make a screenshot of the canvas with processing?

Thanks

Test of MovieMaker video type is a demonstration on how to do that. The sketch might run slower than normal, but the movie will play at full speed.

Alternative: you can make a Gif animation with http://www.extrapixel.ch/processing/gifAnimation/
I made a sketch using it but I might have not shown it yet.

Or if you just want a bunch of images to process later, use saveFrame() function.

It seems I was searching with the wrong terms.

Thank you for the link, I will look into that when I get onto my development machine.

Regarding my orginal post, I still would like to know how to save screenshots as I like to access to a list of source files so I can combine and test codecs at my leisure with a 3rd party application.

Didn't read your edit until after I replied.

Thank you, saveframe looks like exactly what I was looking for.

I ended up using MovieMaker and the result was perfect when I set it to ANIMATION and HIGH.

Thanks you PhiLho for the reference.
