can I export vector lineart with colour info?

hey pUsers,
I am doing a bunch of 3d environment work and wish to export the resultant geometries (which are rendered as colour gradients based on various params) etc as vector linework for use in illustrator etc...ie i want high res! does anyone know a way of doing this? the dxf library is great, but doesnt allow the export of additional info such as colour. is there an illustrtor type library floating around?

You can try and export in PDF, I think Illustrator can open these files.
