Hello,

relativly simple question how would change the background so that when i project onto a space that the background is clear"no colour" and until i called something onto the screen.

does that make sense?

Just set size() to match resolution, set background to black and use Present from the Sketch menu...

if i set the background to black doesnt that just project a black background then ?

the images that i am showing are pretty much black outline vector files.

Im using a dlp projector if thats any use ?

How do you project "black" light?
On a projector, or even a TV, black is the absence of light: pixels are not activated, light isn't projected. The deepness of the black then depend on ambient light, contrast ratio and such.
