Auto open template
Apr 26th, 2009, 10:47am

A lot of programs that give you a blank window when you select 'new' are actually opening from a template file somewhere. I'd really like be able to autoload a lot of things (draw and setup anyone?) everytime I make a sketch.

Is there a file that I can modify for this?

thats a really good idea, maybe you could just always have a save file on your desktop and use that as your starting point, and then you can just save as for you new file name.

Note that on Windows at least, you can define a template file to use in the Windows Explorer's context menu (New... > Folder / Text document, etc. you can add Processing sketch for example).

but how does that give you the chance to start with a predefined sketch?

Windows Explorer > New > Processing Sketch
=> You get a typical NewSketch.pde
=> Double-click it, you open Processing's PDE with this template sketch.
You might need to use Save As to generate the sketch folder as well.
(All this is untested! Wink)
