My sound is 'echoing'???
Feb 25th, 2009, 3:23am

I am very new to Processing and am working on a project for one of my classes. I want audio to be triggered by certain events, but I can not seem to get the audio to sound right. I am not using anything more than the basics of the LoadSample example. I have a MacBook Pro OS 10.5.6. When I try to play an audio clip through Processing it makes a really strange (though kind of neat) echo of sorts. I have tried many different things to try to figure out what is going on (this even happens with the library examples), but I don't really know enough about how audio works, especially how it works with Processing. The clips sound completely normal when I play them through another program on my computer, such as iTunes or Audacity.
Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

I've been battling the same thing.
Changing the MIDI settings as detailed at the end of this thread seems to be the fix:

Using the Audio Midi Setup application in your Applications folder to change the output sample rate seems to have fixed it for me.
