more motion tracking... with code!!!

i am working on a project that involves tracking shadows using a webcam.

i can only seem to track vertical edges

i tried to implement frame differencing as well as applying a brightness thresh hold.

it works...

you can adjust the threshhold (up/down arrows)
as well as the distance to compare pixels for threshhold (left/right arrows)

you can change what it does by checking out code around line 90

before someone calls me stupid and a bad coder:
Some of the code isn't used
other parts are probably not needed
it's prolly not that efficient
but it's what i got.

BTW, i want to see more processing computer vision libraries for linux! everyone seems to do everything on a mac or windows box.i want to be able to setup an art display and not have to pay the apple or microsoft tax. i cant afford to donate a hundred bucks for every art installation i put out. more linux development plez!

i look forward to ANY input you have

and with out any further ado, teh sauce: http://shyft.us/projects/processing/edgeDetectv2.pde
