Averaging AnalogIn values
Feb 16th, 2009, 12:20am

I am trying figure out how to average my AnalogIn sensor values using Processing. I have a Sharp IR connected to an Arduino, that is returning a lot of jittery noise. Any Processing code or hints to smooth this out would be helpful and very appreciated. Thanks!

Other posts of interest related to coding averages, but not for Processing: http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/num_1213773881.html#2 and http://www.tigoe.net/pcomp/code/archives/arduino/000710.shtml

I have tried using 10 µF tantalum capacitors, but I still have a lot of noise: http://www.robotroom.com/DistanceSensor3.html
