[HELP] MAXIMUM RESOLUTION AND FPS IN MOTION DET. ?
Jan 9th, 2009, 5:30pm

Hello.
Im setting up a system for motion detection.
The area to be detected should be 2x3 metres... thus I calculated that I need a firewire monochrome camera with a resolution of 1280x960px. The framerate would be 15fps.

I have read some papers saying that Java cannot handle more than 640x480px @30fps frames... is it true?

What is the 'limit' I can reach with Java?
If I buy a 1280x960px camera but my mac is not able to cope with the data flow, am I able to tell processing to get the images at a lower resolution (the resolution cannot be adjusted on the camera) ?
