Live audio visualisation?
Dec 11th, 2008, 6:42pm

Hello there,

I'm really new to processing so Im sorry if this is a silly question!

On a simple level, I would like to be able to move a simple shape via live audio input, through the computers microphone, for example using pitch and volume as the x and y positions.

I have been using Sonia so far, and am able to make my shape bigger as I get louder but not move!

On a more complex level, I would eventually like the live microphone input to control the movement/algebra rules of a flock of boids/simulation.

Forgive me if this is an obvious and simple question! I have looked through the forums and examples but cannot make sense of it all. I think I am better at things when someone explains to me, so I thought I'd just ask Smiley

So if anyone could show me how to do either of these/point me in a good direction I would be eternally grateful! (and of course credit you in any work I produce with this - it is for a college project to be exhibited in the spring).

Many thanks
