The Age Old HUD/UI Question
Oct 31st, 2008, 4:07am

I KNOW this is asked countless times a second.  And all of you that know the answer are just about sick out of your minds of answering it.

This is technically strictly openGL and not really processing.

How do I set up a scene to render a 3D object with a 3D view port, and then display a HUD or UI of quads, images, text, etc. in a 2D space that will always appear on top with no regard to z values?

All happy and glOrtho2D like.

So, how do I have a scene that simultaneously displays a 3D image in a 3D viewport and 2D images along a 2D projection to the "camera."

You can go ahead and flame me with "LOL 5700P1D N008!!" so long as someone answers me.

Just a note that this thread:

answers my question.
