A little bit of help goes a long way

Hello,

New to this Processing but already fascinated, I've just bought the Rheas Fry Handbook and like the simplicity of the cover design.

I'd like to be able to manipulate similar patterns for myself i'm just not quite sure how it was done. Its the grid like lines that connect the centres of each circle that pose a particular problem. I've done work on random shape and line creation but i seem to be at a loss. I'm sure it would just take a few minutes to explain. Much appreiciated.
