turing machines and timelines

I'm looking for two fairly simply programs, as research for something I am coding, and although they aren't included in the examples in the book, I would figure someone would have written them by now.  

The first is a turing machine simulation, capable of performing simple mathemetical calculations.

The second is a stripped down video editor that has integrated a timeline.  

If anyone can point me in these directions, the examples would greatly simplify my project.
