hy,

i wanna do a project, where i want to visualize the amount of wireless traffic in a room. is there any possibility to do something with processing to get an amount of packets, or something similar.

what i finally need, is just an amount, i can put in a variable.

thanks for your help.

hoi nicolas Wink

after our chat last week i did a small research... but didn't find anything that's easy to use...

i found Kismet (http://www.kismetwireless.net/) a wireless network sniffer. It should run on osx, but i couldn't get it to work right away. after searching the kismet forums it seems that the current release has problems with leopard, so you'll need to download the dev-version. as i understand it, kismet can broadcast the logs on a TCP port, so i guess you could hook that up using the processing net library.

maybe someone else has experience in using a wifi sniffer on os x?
