Best processing tutorials.
Feb 11th, 2008, 7:44pm

Hi there!

I'm new here and was wondering if I could find some good processing tutorials. Yes, i saw the ones on the site, but those dont seem to help me much. I figure if I get one that helps me write a simple program, it will be much easier.

any and all help is appreciated.

thanks, Transparent

have a look at these.

for the very basics I'd say the procedural painting course by Dan Shiffman is a good start.

A slightly more up to date (but still out of date) version of those tutorials are here:

And I have turned these tutorials into a 400 page book, which will be coming out this spring/summer (please jebus, please help me to get this book finally out.)

Ah yes, "The Book", a thing shrouded in legends. Wink

I'm looking forward to that one.

yeah the first one is pretty easy to read for beginners. The only areas where it starts to let itself down are in the later chapters, where there's not enough depth. A more in depth look at the extended libraries would've been cooler.

I thought the interviews were a great addition and inspiration though some aren't processing based.
