Using email as an input?

I'm relatively new to processing and it's fair to say that my skills are somewhat limited. I was wandering if anyone knows whether or not i can use processing to take text from an email, and convert it into scrolling text, like the scrolling text screensaver on windows.

I know that this sounds a bit vague but hopefully someone can help me out.
