will processing become a cultural icon?

haha, i don't know where to post this, but it brings up an interesting question... will processing become a cultural icon?
this involves two things:
a. i have been asked repeated times to make something look processingish (usually something that is an abstract structuralist image) so one could say processing has become poster child for a style....

b. will sometime in the future you will see someone using processing and have the same nostalgic feeling as you do now seeing someone program in basic or logic?

i guess saturation is really the only way to tell in the future.
but would be hilarious and great if processing did become a cult icon

then in 20 years, we can paint it and sell it as art!

There are some paintings up at my local coffee shop that look processing-ish. (Gimme! Coffee, Ithaca NY)

Fail.

I would hate to have Processing be pinned to a look and particular style. I think that would defeat the purpose completely wouldn't you say.

Imagine ten years after oil paint was invented and suddenly clients requested the artist for "those oil paint style" artwork. I think this is an epic fail and utterly depressing. Sad
