alt + [ closes application window

Hi.

Not sure if this is a bug or expected behaviour, but if I press "alt + [" my app window disappears.

This happens both in the ide and exported app. If it is not a bug I'd be interestid in getting around it, as I need to print that character on my app.

I'm on win xp with a spanish keyboard, if that helps.

Thanks a lot.

i've not implemented anything connecting alt+[ to anything, so that would be something that your os is doing. what os are you running, and what version of java?

i've tested on two different winxp sp2 computers. with processing 0124, 0124-expert and 0125.

on this computer i have java 1.6 and on the other one I would say 1.5 but I have to check.

I can use characters like alt + {,}, ]... without problems using keyTyped in my app...

Anyway, as you said, seems like an os-wide problem because it happens in all situations and with every applet. I'm looking for any java prefs that could be causing that. I'll let you know if I find something.

thanks!

and it's not something that happens with other applications (e.g. notepad or whatever)?

no. I've been trying it with every app I could (firefox, notepad, jedit, word....) and nothing apart from writing the character "[" happens, that's why I'm looking for java things more than windows things.

btw i've also tested in the computer of two co workers (also winxp, processing 119 and 121) and it also happens there.
