isight needs ichat to be used in Processing?
Jun 7th, 2007, 12:19am

Sorry for the dumb question, I am not a Mac man.

When I first plugged in the external iSight to the Mac (OSX) it brought up the iChat setup/signup screen. I don't want an iChat account, I just want to use the camera with Processing.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks

Hi, welcome to OS X.

You don't need iChat to use your iSight.

If you don't want to use iChat, Just skip the account settings.

People who wants to use Processing with an iSight (Firewire or Built-in) should consider using iGlasses.

This app lets you change brightness, contrast, Hue, nightview and plenty FX.
You can't use it directly from Processing, but you can use iChat to preview your settings and apply/save/change them.

Then, the camera used in processing will have the same settings as you saved them in iGlasses.

My bad, it was not in Processing.

If you guys (using P5 on OSX) want to use iGlasses with it, you can ask for there :
