stand-alone processing display?
May 9th, 2007, 1:31pm

Hi Everybody:
Reading about JavaFX last night got me thinking [dangerous, i know]...
How hard would it be to hack together a little LCD picture frame like device to run processing programs?
I know there are Linux distros with JVMs that you can run off of a USB.
Please forgive my ignorance of such things, I'm a software guy
Any thoughts/suggestions?
THANXS!

I've been thinking about this for awhile myself... Though I was going to gut an old laptop or something similar. I'd be interested to hear some other suggestions or ideas.

bringing this topic back to life...[cue zombie music]

the goal of my first post below was to develop a desktop [physical, not computer] display of my processing programs and other cool visualizations

one of today's infosthetics postings mentions a device called a chumby:

Here is the direct link to their web site:
http://www.chumby.com/

has anybody tried this device with processing?

THANXS!!!
