I'll be doing a workshop at the Anderson Ranch (Colorado) this June. I hear there are a couple spots still open for those interested.

More information can be found here:

and here:

Workshop description:

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced

Concept: Processing is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animation and sound. In this workshop we will focus on Processing's video library, learning how to play with pixels from a live camera by analyzing their makeup, altering colors, and experimenting with effects. We will also explore video as an input to control graphic elements on-screen, whether by controlling their movement or generating dynamic, abstract compositions.

Media & Techniques: Macintosh computers, video, images and sound. Writing code in Processing and handling video data; creating abstract form with software and interpreting video data with code.

Activities: Working with existing examples to get familiar with Processing; learning effects; tracking objects with video completion of self-directed projects.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with programming languages such as Actionscript or Javascript (or more complicated languages like C++ or Java).

Faculty: Ben Fry received his doctorate from the Aesthetics + Computation Group at the MIT Media Laboratory. He worked with Casey Reas to develop Processing, which won a Golden Nica from the Prix Ars Electronica in 2005. Ben's work has received a New Media Fellowship from the Rockefeller Foundation, and been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, Ars Electronica, the 2002 Whitney Biennial and the 2003 Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial. He is the 2006-2007 Nierenberg Chair of Design for the Carnegie Mellon School of Design.

I'm bumping this up to the top of the list today. There are still a few places left and the workshop is coming up soon!
