Torch effect

Is there any possibliity I could get help with a programme?  I'm looking to create an effect from an image of a torch, thats attached to the movement of the mouse.  

Im guessing that sort of effect would have to do with the brightness or gradient possibilities in processing?

Basically, I need an ellipse that will display the background image from really bright, to fading out as it reaches out, i.e. the effect of a torch.

Any solutions anyone?

In the Processing window, go to "File", "Sketchbook", "Examples", and "Image" to get to a sketch called "Brightness". I believe that this is the kind of effect you are looking for.
